Starting at the tender age of 15 on the yacht "Dayspring" under the indefatigable Capt. Brown, to the brigantine "Caribee" with Jol Byerly through the charter yacht "Sagittarious" to the magnificent tall ship "Freelance", Hugh climbed through the ranks from deck hand to Captain to owner. He moved on to Merchant ships and now to the famous racing machine "Hugo" all the while maintaining his touch in sports fishing with numerous records on F.V."Hubee". He is the ultimate seafaring man.
